Join us in welcoming a delightful studio of artists from Indianapolis, Indiana~ Indiana Urban Artisans! Working with professional ceramic artists in their city, this exceptional group of creative young adults learns transferable, vocational skills through the making, marketing, and selling of their artwork. They individually and as a team make various sized, vibrantly glazed, and highly patterned clay works. Be the first to see their new spring collection of flower pots, bird feeders, serving trays and bowls- It will be hard not to buy them all! (Oh, go ahead support this creative crew!)

~ Local member of the Herb Society, Sandy Manteuffel uses this love of fresh & green to preserve nature’s beauty in he...r pottery. She hand-throws functional ceramics and then presses herb sprigs and leaves of scented geraniums & hydrangeas into the wet clay. Leaving the leaves in to burn out during firing allows the beautiful vein impressions to remain. She finishes each piece with a special glaze that highlights these impressions & gives a warm, natural finish.

Work with local ceramic artist, Sandy Manteuffel, to leave an impression. CREATE your own functional bowl or dish by pressing leaves of herbs, scented geraniums, and hydrangeas from Sandy’s garden into the wet clay form. She’ll glaze & fire it for you so you’ll have your own piece of handmade ceramic pottery that you made to use, enjoy, and show-off for years to come!

As part of our American Craft Week Celebration, indigenous is hosting a fundraiser for Empty Bowls, a charity near & dear to our hearts.
Our talented artists have generously contributed one of their fabulous art pieces to be raffled off for our fundraising event. The money raised from our American Craft Week raffle will go to Empty Bowls, an organization working locally to help end hunger.
The donated items are showcased at our counter~ you can purchase a raffle ticket for a chance to win each artwork, just $1.oo each. The more raffle tickets you purchase the greater your chances are to win & the more money we will raise for Empty Bowls.

Begin the American Craft Celebration by meeting woodworker Mike Sorge who sculpts original designs & traditional shapes from fallen trees. Allowing the woods’ inherent natural beauty of colors, grains, & textures to emerge from the rescued branches, Mike’s unique vessels will delight all visitors, while mesmerizing collectors. Mike Sorge will fill our front yard with a diverse variety of functional designs in an array of woods including walnut, cherry, maple, russian olive, osage orange, black locust, honey locust, ash, oak, pear, apple, also various spalted woods and figured woods. Elaine Thomas - new artist to indigenous and first exhibit in Cincinnati! Finding inspiration from childhood memories of rummaging through trunks in her grandma’s attic and shopping at antique stores, Elaine Thomas creates one-of-a-kind, whimsical figures. Her unique artwork incorporates a variety of papier-mâché techniques and other mixed-media approaches to achieve each whimsical, folk-art style character. Her menagerie overflows with smiling cats, crazy clowns, wacky witches, terrifying tricksters and other holiday favorites such as grinning gingerbread men, pretty pixies, jolly ol’ st. nick, (just to name a few). Enjoy watching her masterfully sculpt her fun figures while perusing her gang of goodies.
